Question:
What does it cost to pursue a car accident lawsuit in Buffalo?
Answer:
When people come in to see us after they’ve been involved in a serious car accident case, they want to know how much it’s going to cost them. We tell them it doesn’t cost them anything. Unlike some legal services where you come in and hire a lawyer to perform legal services, car accident cases work differently.
Car accident cases work on what’s called a contingency basis. What that means is, if there’s a recovery, the lawyer receives a percentage. In other words, if we’re handling your case and we do not successfully obtain a recovery for you, then you don’t owe us any money. If we do obtain a recovery for you, we would generally receive one-third of any recovery that we obtain for you. Right off the bat, however, you don’t have to pay anything upfront for a lawyer to handle your car accident case.
