Over 50 years of History
In July 1955, newly admitted attorney Fred Friedman hung out his first shingle at his home on Clarence Center Road in Newstead. Back then, he didn't have much more than a love for his profession, a clear vision of how to serve clients and a manual typewriter. Beginnings don't come much humbler than that. But due to his commitment to stay true to that vision, Friedman & Ranzenhofer, PC Attorneys are still going strong serving the Western New York community from its five offices.
In addition to Akron, offices are also located in Batavia, Buffalo, Clarence and West Seneca. Attorneys Michael H. Ranzenhofer, Robert Friedman, and Fred Friedman handle a wide variety of legal matters. Personal injury, estate planning, elder law, corporate, not-for-profit, real estate, probate, landlord/tenant, criminal/traffic, marital and family law are the firm's primary focus.
Although the firm has embraced the latest technology, it still provides personal small town service. The firm's LegalSurvival.com website, established in 1996, was one of the first law firm websites on the Internet. The website and electronic newsletter have been highly recommended by USA Today, Fortune Magazine, the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Public and community service has been a tradition at Friedman & Ranzenhofer, PC. The attorneys have been active in service organizations, chambers of commerce, bar associations and community education. Fred Friedman is a past president of the Clarence Chamber of Commerce. Robert Friedman was on the Chamber board for six years.
Fred Friedman served as Akron Village Attorney, Genesee County Family Court Hearing officer and chairman of the Committee on Law & Public Safety of the Erie County Charter Review Commission. As SCORE counselor since 1992, he counseled many small businesses and not-for-profits. As Austrian Consul for Western New York since 2002, he provided information about visas, passports, pensions and other governmental benefits and speaks to groups in the US and Austria.
Mr. Ranzenhofer, as an Erie County Legislator since 1989, has been both a minority and majority leader. He has served on the board of directors of the Erie County IDA and S.U.N.Y. Buffalo Health Services Institutional Review Board.
Robert Friedman is Akron Village Prosecutor. He is former hearing officer for Supreme Court Small Claims Assessment Review, Clarence Town Prosecutor, Clarence Town Attorney and Clarence IDA Attorney. He has presented community education courses at numerous schools throughout Western New York on topics such as, landlord/tenant law, debt collection, estate planning and small business.
